November Project: Question #14
This question comes from Liz through the Contact form
Do you think humanity will ever, truly, be free?
Thanks for the question, Liz!
Humanity has always been free.
I know it is sometimes difficult to see, with all the needless destruction that goes on in the name of this or that. But freedom can never really be lost...
...it can be covered over, but never lost.
Thanks for your question!

Thanks, Liz.
We can only suppose...if you are speaking of the physical world, and the effect humanity has on itself and everything else, it is difficult to say. In the past all we needed was to be just slightly more good than bad. But that doesn't necessarily work as well today, because one asshole in the right (or wrong?) position can kill millions very quickly.
I still think humanity is just slightly more good than bad, and I don't think that will change for the worse. But how we live today, and with the levels of technology we have created, slighty more good is not good enough anymore.
Humanity does have the tendency to do the right thing, but at the 11th hour. And at that point, the only way to implement the right thing is through violence. If we stop waiting for the right time and just act, we could end a great deal of that inevitable suffering.
And as far as uncovering freedom is concerned, only you can do it.
Begin there. With you.
I see what you are saying. Well, do you think humanity will ever 'uncover' what we've forgotten or covered up? All of the stupid things we do for money or power or greed. Do you think we'll ever get out of it?
Thanks for answering my question, Takuin. :-)
